Introduction

The current version of our Hardware Laboratory Course, an introduction to FPGA design using the Handel-C language, was first offered during the Fall 2003 semester. Initial funding for the laboratory came from an NSF Grant to Professors Seymour Goodman and Christopher Vickery of the Computer Science Department. Key software packages used in the laboratory were donated by the Celoxica, Xilinx, and Altera corporations.

Celoxica was acquired by another company late in 2008. With no further support available for the logic kits we were using, and no further development of the Handel-C programming language, we stopped offering this course. At least until an alternative for the Celoxica infrastructure comes along...
